This paddle is handcrafted in Bubinga.

Bubinga is a very tough hardwood that requires extra strength in shaping. Bubinga trees grow in Western Africa from Cameroon to Gabon, Congo and Zaire. The highly decorative heart wood is reddish to reddish-purple with fine darker vines and a natural shine. Bubinga is very heavy with good strength. Bubinga is often called “African rosewood”, even though at first glance, it doesn’t resemble other types of rosewood.
