Technical Age Verification and the European Digital Identity Wallet
Protecting minors is a key priority for us - including in cases where the law does not yet explicitly impose a specific obligation in every situation. Our shop contains erotic imagery. For this reason, we want to restrict access to such content for minors as effectively as possible.
To achieve this, we use a two-step protection system with a blur effect in our online shop. Images containing erotic content are initially displayed in a blurred form. These contents only become fully visible after registration and the submission of a date of birth. In this way, we create an additional access barrier for underage users and handle sensitive content responsibly.
Our approach reflects the protective objectives of the Digital Services Act (DSA) and is also designed with future European privacy-compliant age verification solutions in mind. This includes, in particular, the future integration of the European Digital Identity Wallet or compatible age verification methods.
For users outside the European Union - for example in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, or Australia - we are reviewing the integration of nationally recognized age verification services wherever these are available and legally appropriate.
Our goal is to handle erotic content responsibly: with transparency, with respect for privacy, and with respect for all users.
