Leather Care Instructions – General Guide by MEO®

Proper care for your leather products ensures long-lasting enjoyment, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. Here are specific care instructions for various types of leather and materials.

1. Caring for Smooth Leather

Cleaning: Remove dirt using a slightly damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid aggressive cleaning agents.

Drying: Let the leather air dry at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources.

Care: Regularly apply a leather conditioner or leather balm to keep the material supple and durable.

2. Caring for Suede (Nubuck Leather)

Cleaning: Use a special suede brush or suede eraser to remove dirt and dust.

Stain Removal: Stains can often be treated with a bit of vinegar water. Dab gently, do not rub.

Drying: Always let suede air dry and gently brush afterward to restore the fibers.

Care: Protect suede with specialized waterproofing sprays to shield it from moisture and dirt.

3. Caring for Faux Leather

Cleaning: Clean faux leather with a damp cloth and mild soap solution. Avoid alcohol-based or aggressive cleaners.

Drying: Allow faux leather to air dry at room temperature.

Care: Faux leather generally requires minimal special care, but occasional application of a faux-leather care spray can help maintain its appearance.

4. Caring for Neoprene

Cleaning: Hand-wash neoprene products with cold water and mild soap.

Drying: Air dry neoprene away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent damage to the material.

Care: Occasionally use specialized neoprene care products to maintain elasticity and durability.
