Information on the disposal of electrical equipment, batteries and accumulators

Our WEEE registration number is: DE 99554904.

Electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE / ElektroG)

Electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of with household waste in accordance with applicable legal requirements, in particular the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG). End users are required to dispose of waste equipment via separate collection, apart from municipal waste. The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on electrical and electronic equipment indicates that such equipment must not be disposed of with household waste.

Waste equipment must be collected separately and disposed of at an authorised collection or take-back point. This includes, in particular, municipal recycling and waste collection centres.

Waste equipment can also be returned to us. Return is possible at our sales location MEO Vertriebs GmbH, Lise-Meitner-Straße 9, 45699 Herten, Germany, or by postal return. In the case of a postal return, the shipping costs are reimbursed so that take-back is free of charge for the end user. Prior contact is required for reimbursement of shipping costs.

Waste equipment with an edge length of up to 25 cm can be returned at any time independently of a new purchase; this is generally limited to up to three waste devices per type of equipment. For larger waste equipment, take-back in retail is generally provided under the one-for-one rule (1:1) when purchasing a new device of the same type.

If batteries or accumulators are not permanently installed in the device, they must be removed before handing in the waste equipment and disposed of separately. The person handing in the waste equipment is responsible for deleting any personal data stored on it.

Batteries and accumulators
(pursuant to EU Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542)

Our shipments may include batteries or accumulators, or products with batteries or accumulators permanently installed. As an entity placing products on the market, we are obliged to provide information on proper disposal. Batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of with household waste. End users are required to collect used batteries and accumulators separately and ensure proper disposal.

Waste batteries and waste accumulators may contain substances that are hazardous to the environment and health. At the same time, they contain valuable raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel, which can be recovered through recycling.

Used batteries and accumulators can be returned free of charge at municipal collection points (e.g. recycling centres), in retail outlets, or at our sales location MEO Vertriebs GmbH, Lise-Meitner-Straße 9, 45699 Herten, Germany. Take-back at our sales location is limited to quantities customary for households and to those batteries and accumulators that we carry or have carried as new batteries or in devices in our range.

The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol indicates that batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of with household waste. The following chemical symbols may appear under the symbol: Pb - battery contains lead, Cd - battery contains cadmium, Hg - battery contains mercury. These markings indicate batteries with particularly hazardous components.
